Chinese tea
China has an enormous lead over other tea powers. Thousands of years of cultivation, harvesting and processing of tea leaves by the third largest country on the planet are reflected in their perfect appearance, taste and aroma. Chinese green, black, white, yellow and blue-green tea as well as Pu Erh or moulded and blooming tea, is famous globally.
In China, many rituals accompany tea gardens, their maintenance, the harvesting of the leaves, the production of tea and the preparation of the beverage. Tea has become embedded in art, calligraphy, music and literature. It is associated with many legends as well.
It has gained its form and continues to enrich the culture not only of the Chinese people but of all nations. It is the elixir of life, relieving the body of fatigue and the mind of sadness. The close association between China and tea is evidenced by the word tea itself - Ccha in Chinese. And where did tea come from? From China! The min dialect refers to tea with the word ''te''. Chinese tea production fluctuates, of course. We can get an idea of the amount that the "Land of the Center of the World" supplies tea lovers each year from 2010 data - at that time, China accounted for 79 % of the world's green tea production. The way tea is labelled is also intriguing. The country has introduced numerical standards in which a lower number describes a higher quality tea.
Of course, it is not always possible to maintain the system. The most famous provinces from which China's rare tea comes include Yunnan, Zhejiang, Anhui, Sichuan, Fujian, Jiangsu, and Guandong.
