Ingredients
100 % Green tea CHINA YUNNAN PURE BUD SILVER STRANDSBrew & Taste
The light yellow infusion with a slight green sparkle surprises with its sweet, long-lasting taste and a rich dose of freshness with slightly grassy elements.
Origins
Breathtaking scenery of high mountain peaks disappearing into the clouds, picturesque plains and the ever-changing water levels of its three major rivers. This is Yunnan, home of China's finest teas. The climate there is very friendly to tea plants. The mild fluctuations in temperature between seasons allow the leaves to absorb all the important substances peacefully throughout the growing season.
Yunnan Pure Bud Silver Strands is, however, different from other teas grown here. It is harvested before the very beginning of spring, before the plantations are soaked by the rains. If the conditions are right, it can be harvested once more in the year, in late September and October, when the monsoon wave gives up its grip on the landscape. Interestingly, only the buds are picked, i.e. without the adjacent leaves. Therefore, it is very important that the collection is done by hand and very carefully to avoid possible damage to the twigs.
The green buds have slightly fuzzy silver tips that retain their shade even after oxidation has stopped and then dried. Although it is not a Japanese tea, if prepared properly you can pick up a flavor reminiscent of umami. The distinctive elements of Yunnan Green Bud may not completely overwhelm the novice green tea fan, but with each successive cup, you are guaranteed to enjoy the symbiosis and layering of notes more and more.
