Vietnam – Organic Green Tea
Vietnamese tea
Vietnam is always found around the tenth place on the list of tea producers. With locals drinking it several times a day, the Vietnamese market makes around 30,000 tonnes of tea a year. A further 130,000 tonnes are exported to more than 80 countries. Considerable attention and effort is devoted to the cultivation of tea trees and the processing of their leaves in Vietnam. That is evidenced by several ''tea'' research institutes, a production plant and a school for the study of tea varieties.
The Socialist Republic of Vietnam (a full name of the country in Southeast Asia) focuses on the production of black tea, green tea, oolong, Pu Erhu and, rarely, white tea. Typically, green tea is flavoured using jasmine or lotus, a Vietnamese speciality. The grassy, marine flavour of Vietnamese teas gradually sweetens in the mouth.
The exotic destination attracts with its tropical beauty, colourful folk customs and cultural richness reflecting the influences of India and China. Badminton, tennis and ping-pong are the most popular sports among the Vietnamese. Numerous architectural monuments, pagodas, the Cu Chi underground tunnels and the Cat Tien Biosphere Reserve - these are just a fraction of what you can admire in Vietnam.
