100 % Green tea Long Zhu GreenBrew & Taste
One of the most sought-after teas in the world has a light yellow-green fresh color after brewing, sometimes compared to straw. The aroma is natural, light and lingers in the mouth long after the cup is finished. The taste is usually described as captivating and quite exceptional, slightly sweet, with a trace of plants, chestnuts and pine. It can also be perceived as having fruity overtones. Either way, it is very mellow, smooth and delicate.
Origins
It's clear from the looks of this tea that it's an original! It is also found on the market under the name Tai Mu Long Zhu or simply Dragon Pearls or Dragon Eyes. These are tightly rolled pearls of the finest Chinese tea leaves that grow in Fujian province, specifically in the Fu Zhou area of the Tian Mu Mountains. It is one of the most precious Chinese teas. The local farmers pay special attention to it.
The harvesting of tea trees takes place in early spring, in late April and May, and is done entirely by hand. The careful plucking of the young leaves and buds is the sole responsibility of local women. This green treasure is then placed in large baskets. The correct timing of the harvest is of utmost importance and needs to be done as soon as the leaves begin to develop. The women must be avoid using any perfumes and scents, and in some areas they are not even allowed to have spicy food or aromatic drinks. Their scent could even transfer to the tea leaves and spoil them. The small, white, hairy top buds and the two youngest leaves are collected.
After harvesting, they must be transported as quickly as possible for processing. The wilted leaves and buds are subjected to a short roasting process, carefully rolled into small, neat pearls of 5-6mm and dried. Each bead individually passes through the deft hands of the farmers. At the end of the whole process is a fine tea with great sensory properties and positive health effects.
