Siberian Ginseng Root (Eleutherococcus Senticosus) – Powder
Eleutherococcus senticosus is not true ginseng, yet we boldly call it one. And not just us. Traditional medicine mentions Siberian ginseng only in superlatives. The root, resembling a human body in appearance, has an irreplaceable role in many myths and legends, as well as in home pharmacies. Siberian ginseng powder comes in handy and it's easy to use. Just boil it and you can taste the benefits of the "human root".
Ingredients
100 % GinsengBrew & Taste
Siberian Ginseng Root tea tastes mainly sweet and only slightly bitter. The woody aroma is also pleasant. The beverage is pale yellow.
Origins
The Bhutanese gave it the name Eleutherococcus senticosus, which does not sound as pleasant as Siberian ginseng, man's or devil's root. It is indeed a spiny shrub, though only on young branches. It grows up to 2m, has grey bark and about 12cm long, toothed leaves. When the eleutherococcus flowers, it smells pleasant. The fruit is a purple berry. The shrub is native to eastern Asia, and does well in humid places, forests or shrubbery.
Although there have been attempts to plant the shrub as ornamental, it has come to the fore primarily because of its roots. In fact, in the mid-20th century, scientists identified the same substances in them as are found in the scarce and very rare true ginseng (Panax ginseng). And so eleutherococcus quickly became its – quite excellent – successor. The root is rich in essential oils, special glycosides (eleutherosides), lipids, flavonoids, resins, and other substances with a wide range of effects. It is therefore widely used in the production of medicinal products and its use is recommended in many cases, most often in convalescence, to increase physical fitness, etc. It is said that the popularity of Siberian ginseng is due to the Russian Olympic athletes, who successfully applied it before and after competitions.
