Ingredients
86 % Rooibos, Raspberry chunks, Blackberry leaves, Rose petals, Sunflower, AromaBrew & Taste
A beautiful, almost caramel-colored infusion just screams to be tasted. But first, give in to its aroma – wonderfully refreshing, full, sweet and sour notes with strong accents of grapefruit and raspberry. After sipping, we recognize the light sweetness of the Rooibos, matched by the juicy forest fruits. An extremely pleasant touch of citrus remains on the palate.
Rooibos does not contain caffeine, so it is suitable for supplementing the drinking regime of young children, pregnant and nursing women and, in short, anyone who wants to feel good and look great. Try Rooibos Red Passion also as an ice tea. It will refresh you perfectly and offer new and unconventional flavors.
Origins
Although rooibos is classified as a tea, it is not a real tea. It is prepared from the leaves of the Cape tea tree, an approximately 1m tall shrub that grows exclusively in the Cederberg region, about 250km from Cape Town. It has needle-shaped leaves whose supposedly magical properties were discovered by the South African natives. It was probably the Maasai who discovered the harvesting process and the technology of making rooibos. And so, for centuries, the roughly 30cm branches of the tea plant have always been cut in autumn, chopped into 5cm pieces, left to ferment in piles and then dried in direct sunlight. The result is a high-quality rooibos, as strong as the African sun itself.
Blackberries and raspberries are sourced from the EU. Our suppliers have selected them very carefully, cut them into large pieces and preserved them with freeze-drying. This is a technological process in which the raw materials are first shock-frozen and then dried under low pressure. They retain up to 90% of their vitamin content and are similar in appearance, color and taste to fresh fruit. After you pour them over with hot water, such fruit is truly delicious and fragrant to the max.
