Keemun black tea
Keemun is a variety of black Chinese tea produced exclusively around the town of Quimen, under the Yellow Mountains, near the Yangtze River. There are many varieties of this unique tea. The resulting taste and aroma depend on the production process, which each tea garden carefully guards. But the true tea lover will always find the beverage light, slightly smoky and slightly malty.
A sip of Keemun will leave notes of flowers or cocoa on the palate. Unlike other Chinese teas, Keemun does not have a thousand-year history. It was first produced only in 1875. But it quickly gained popularity, especially with consumers in the western part of the world. Less-quality Keemun is widely used in tea blends. The quality teas are intended for the Gong Fu Cha tea ceremony.
