North Star tea has rich, dark reddish-brown color. The taste combines warm tones of cinnamon with refreshing hints of orange peel combined with sweet apples, pineapple and star-shaped candy. The aroma of spices and oranges evokes a pleasant sense of well-being, making this tea an ideal companion not only on cold days.
Origins
Qimen, a region in the Anhui province of China, is considered one of the most prestigious areas for growing tea. This is where Keemun STD comes from. Now, we know that sounds a little funny for the uninitiated, but “STD” actually marks the grade of the tea– a really high grade in this case, with premium quality and evenly processes leaves. Keemun teas are famous for their mellow and complex flavor, with a long history to accompany it.
Roots of this black tea reach back to the 19th century when Chinese tea experts started experimenting with new methods of processing tea leaves. These efforts lead to a creation of a new tea, completely different from any other black teas in China. Keemun has a signature rich taste with subtle fruity and floral tones, which makes it one of the most sought-after black teas in the world.
What makes this tea so different? The tea leaves are harvested by hand and then carefully fermented and dried, which helps them keep their naturally rich, sweet taste. This process also imbues the leaves with deeper flavor, complex character and makes it the perfect base for many tea blends.

Instructions for preparation
- Pour 150-200ml of boiling water (100°C) per 1 teaspoon of tea.
- When brewing in a teapot add 1 extra teaspoon.
- Covered, let steep for 3-5 minutes, then remove the strainer.
