5 Tea tips to surprise your partner this Valentine

7. 2. 2025 5 minutes reading
Why not express your undying love with something a little more original than a bouquet of roses this year? Or maybe just get some inspiration for something to go alongside your passionate flower gift. In tea, you’ll have something that warms both the body and soul regardless of whether you’re aiming to impress a significant other, a parent or even a best friend.

1. Tea Sampling for Two

If you and your partner are trying to just relax this Valentine’s Day, there’s nothing better to complete a day of rest than sampling some tea. This easy and fun activity can take over a few hours. Just make yourselves a variety of teas, from white to green to black and fruity – the refreshing and pleasantly sour Goji-Raspberry is an all-time favorite, for example. And it’s perfect both hot and iced, healthy and stock-full of antioxidants.

We recommend preparing some snacks that go well with teas, such as cookies or dark chocolate. And of course, a blindfold will always make tasting more fun – you can even compete who will guess more teas correctly or make the game harder by covering your nose. No aroma means the teas will be trickier to recognize.

2. Tea Tin with a Lovey-dovey Message

Express your love with style! You can write little romantic notes to hide inside your tea gift or choose an original message to write on a gift tea tin for her or for him. Your partner will receive not only a delicious treat, but also a lovely surprise with a thoughtful note.

You can go as far as getting a tea gift set – pick a tin of delicious high-quality tea and get a beautiful teapot or drip tray to along with it. This way, your note doesn’t have to go inside the tin but can be sealed in a pretty envelope next to it. Whether you choose a lovely wish, a romantic poem or your favorite love quote, it’s sure to bring a smile to your partner’s face.

3. Home Tea Spa

Why not spend this Valentine’s just pampering yourselves? You don’t even need to go that far or pay that much! All you need is a bath and some tea. Green tea is great for hydration and black tea can wonderfully revitalize your body. If you just want to relax, we recommend lavender or jasmine tea. To get your romantic home spa, just brew two cups of your tea of choice in 2l of water and pour them into your bath along with hot water.

To make your spa as fragrant as possible, feel free to use a few drops of essential oils. To relax, reach again for lavender or rosemary. If you need to relieve some aches, mint works best. And to bring the whole experience to the max, brew a cup of high-quality mint-mango tea for your partner to sip in the bath. Half-an-hour and both your bodies and minds will be revitalized. To bring your experience to a close, try a face mask with green tea to hydrate and nourish your complexion.

Tip: Add some rose petals and candles to and around your bath. You can also make a simple tea scrub by mixing green tea, cane sugar and a few drops of essential oil and some coconut oil.

4. Dinner with Tea Mocktails

If you’re the type to plan out a romantic dinner, try surprising your partner with an original beverage – such as a tea mocktail. It’s refreshing and alcohol-free, so it’s perfect for those who participate in Dry February. A good beginner mocktail is Matcha Mojito.

You’ll need:

  • 1 scoop of matcha
  • 120ml carbonated water
  • A handful of mint leaves
  • ½ lime
  • Cane sugar to taste
  • Ice

Brew matcha as per usual. Take a tall glass, crush the mint leaves with sugar and add lime juice, matcha and carbonated water. Don’t forget your ice and add some mint leaves for garnish.

If you’d rather have your beverage hot, or you’re looking for a themed gift, we recommend a getting a high-quality loose leaf tea tin of For You With Love. It’s full of apples, papaya and raspberries. You won’t know what’s sweeter, this tea or your Valentine’s kiss.

5. Breakfast & Tea in Bed

Start your Valentine’s Day morning in the best way possible – with a breakfast in bed and a fragrant cup of tea. Prepare your favorite pastries, fresh fruit and of course a hot cup of delicious tea to finish things off. And if you put it up on a nice bed-friendly tray, add a flower vase and a little romantic note. It’s a guaranteed hit.

If breakfast wasn’t enough, you can surprise your partner with a gift of high-quality tea tin such as the one For a True Man. That one is full of black tea infused with spices, ginger and chili, which makes it a great energy booster you’ll crave every morning.

Why is tea the ideal Valentine’s Day gift? In some cultures, namely in China, tea is considered a symbol of love and friendship. Sharing a cup is sign of mutual respect and sympathy. And one thing that always goes along well with tea is chocolate, so don’t forget to get your loved one a box of chocolates, too.
