Origins
If we were to travel for every ingredient of this tea, we’d likely have no time left to get it to you. And since we really want to offer you this amazing drink and make even more blends to suit your palate, we selected a handful of European suppliers to get our ingredients from. Our suppliers are always certified and we’ve worked together for a great number of years now, so we know we can offer you the freshest, highest quality fruits, veggies and spices – and cultivated organically to avoid any harmful substances. We also insist on gentle freeze-drying to preserve up to 90% of the nutrients and properties of fresh fruit.
Goji berries, the main ingredient in this loose-leaf tea, come from a shrub with tiny leaves and inconspicuous flowers.
Chinese teaplant, or wolfberry, grows mostly under the Himalayan mountains. Its fruits were used as currency in ancient China. Wolfberries resemble rosehip in shape and color and measure about 1-3cm, ripen twice a year and are dried for loose-leaf teas. They taste sweeter than rosehips, but more sour than raisins and if you squint, you can taste a slight bitterness.
Sea buckthorn berries come from the deciduous plant of the same name, which is native to China, Mongolia, Nepal and India. The yellow-orange berries are 5-10mm long and taste from sweet and sour to bitter. Sea buckthorn is a thorny bush that grows up to 6m tall and requires a sunny habitat. Its berries are known in Russia as the 'Siberian miracle' or 'the lemons of the north'.
