Ingredients
100 % Black tea Darjeeling TGFOP 1 GielleBrew & Taste
Darjeeling TGFOP1 Gielle is a high-class Indian spring tea. The infusion is slightly lighter than other Darjeelings, but the taste is full, harmonious and floral-sweet. Its unique, clean aroma makes it very favorable among tea lovers. Australians, in particular, have a passion for this type of Darjeeling.
Origins
The first harvest is not as abundant as the following ones, but on the other hand, it has smaller leaves with a large number of tips and a pleasant taste. Young teas are demanded all over the world. From two to four weeks after processing they go to the exchanges, where they we all fight over them. Darjeeling is often sought by Russians and Germans. There, gourmets organize special tea parties to test the harvest and hold extensive debates about the teas on social media.
The youngest leaves are plucked from Chinese tea trees (Camellia sinensis, var. Assamica) in the second week of March. When transported to the processing farms, they wilt, and without being crushed or rolled they go through the fermentation process. During this process, under controlled temperature and humidity conditions, the enzymes are oxidized, and the flavor and strength of the tea are enhanced. Darjeeling TGFOP1 Gielle is fermented only slightly, hence its lighter color. The next step is hot air drying which is carefully supervized. The fermentation and drying process is where the character of the tea is formed. These two steps can produce a tea of exceptional quality but also below average. If you find a black tea with a caramel aroma or a strong aroma of roasted bread, then it is a poorly processed leaf.
Darjeeling TGFOP1 Gielle is a highly prized type of tea with a high content of silver tips – silvery fluffy shoots – according to the internationally recognized standard. The number defines the finest quality.
