Darjeeling FTGFOP First Flush Sirubari Teesta – Black Tea

Code: 419

Just like authenthic champagne needs to come from France, true Darjeeling can only be grown in India. The dignature color, taste and aroma depend on the climate of the Himalayan foothills where it's harvested by the hand of local women and undergoes a process of withering, rolling and drying. This exclusive tea is quite popular in England. There is only one Darjeeling.

Ingredients

100 % Black tea Darjeeling FTGFOP 1ST Flush Sirubari Teesta

Origin

Climate and altitude determine the color, flavor, and harvest time of this sublime tea. Darjeeling grows only in West Bengal. It also makes India a major tea producer and a globally recognized commodity. Currently, there are 86 tea gardens in Darjeeling, which produce approximately 10 million kg of tea annually.

Story of the tea began about 150 years ago when Dr. Campbell, a civilian surgeon in the Indian Medical Service, planted several tea trees in his garden from the seeds he had secretly brought from China. The tea trees became very popular, and the British government was interested in developing their own plantations.

Darjeeling FTGFOP First Flush Sirubari Teesta belongs to the family of world-famous teas. It is grown on the Sirubari plantation in the northwestern part of Darjeeling. The letters FTGFOP (Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) in its name indicate the quantity and quality of the finest leaves. Darjeeling has fewer white buds according to this classification, its quality is superior. The infusion of this tea is golden, and the flavor has fresh elements of spiciness and smooth malt. The leaves come from the first harvest, which takes place in mid-March. Darjeeling does not oxidize at 100% but only about 90%. For this reason, its leaf is not dark brown or black but retains a dark green color.
