Origins
Why ashwagandha, Tulsi, cordyceps, and lucuma? Because all of these are powerful natural adaptogens and time-proven staples in our herb kit. Let's introduce them together.
Ashwagandha, also known as Indian ginseng, comes from the root of the Withania somnifera plant. The powder ground from the root is a light brown color and has an earthy, slightly bitter taste with a slightly spicy aftertaste. In Ayurvedic tradition and modern science, it’s considered a powerful adaptogen. Its effects are subtle at first, but stable and effective if taken long-term. Ashwagandha contains:
- withanolides (steroidal lactones),
- alkaloids,
- saponins.
Tulsi, also known as holy basil, is an herb with a long and rich history. In India, for example, it’s revered as a plant with almost divine powers. Its taste is specific, slightly spicy, with notes of cloves, mint, and pepper. Tulsi helps the body and mind to remain keep their inner balance. All of these abilities are thanks to the high content of beneficial compounds such as:
- eugenol, camphor, linalool (essential oils),
- flavonoids (rosmarinic acid),
- triterpenes (ursolic acid).
The third super-ingredient in the No Stress blend is Cordyceps sinensis, sometimes referred to as caterpillar fungus. It’s a fascinating mushroom that’s been used in Chinese medicine for centuries. Today, it’s grown in substrates rich in rice, the powder has a light orange-brown color. The taste can be described as slightly earthy, with a touch of bitterness. Cordyceps is suited for anyone who wants to handle everyday challenges with ease. It’s rich in:
- polysaccharides (beta glucans),
- cordycepin (3′ deoxyadenosine),
- adenosine.
And last but not least – lucuma, the fruit of the Andean tree Pouteria lucuma. It’s been ground into a pleasantly sweet, light-yellow powder. The taste reminiscent of a combination of maple syrup, sweet potato, and vanilla caramel. Although lucuma is naturally sweet, its glycemic index is low, so it’s a natural sweetener with a high nutritional value. Its origins have earned it the nickname ‘the gold of the Incas’. It contains, for example:
- carotenoids (antioxidants),
- polyphenols and flavonoids,
- fiber, vitamin C, iron, calcium.
No Stress simply helps you to switch off your mind, calm your body, and breathe clearly. You’ll feel the wisdom of nature, the power of traditional herbs, mushrooms in every sip. You deserve a break.
