Beetroot BIO, Maca BIO, Ceylon cinnamon BIO, Ginger BIOBrew & Taste
The vibrant reddish brown infusion is the exact image people picture when they hear 'energizing herbal drink'. Beets make the drink earthy and naturally sweet, cinnamon adds a touch of warmth, and ginger ties it together with its long-lasting, spicy flavor that stays with you even after the first sip. Maca isn't very noticeable in the taste, but your body will certainly note it.
Origins
Beets have been a popular root vegetable for over three thousand years. They were cultivated by the Babylonians, and the Romans spread their fame throughout Europe. Nowadays, we even consider them a superfood. Behind that rich red pigment, which leaves distinctive stains on everything it comes into contact with, lies a substance called betaine. Betaine is associated with liver protection and vascular health. Beets also aid in red blood cell production, proper bowel and nervous system function, and natural immunity.
Maca grows in the Peruvian Andes at altitudes over 4,000 meters, where other plants wouldn't survive. Local farmers have been cultivating and eating it for thousands of years, and in Peru, it remains a staple of daily diet to this day – more than a mere dietary supplement. Its recognized health benefits primarily revolve around hormonal balance. Research indicates that maca is especially beneficial for women going through menopause.
Egyptian embalmers used cinnamon during mummification because it inhibits bacteria. In the Middle Ages, it was worth more than gold, and wealthy nobles proudly sprinkled it into their food. In Indian harems, among other things, it was burned as an incense stick. The cinnamon tree belongs to the laurel family, meaning it's distantly related to bay leaves, though you wouldn’t guess just by the taste.
Cinnamon has a long list of health benefits. It's associated with normal blood sugar levels, vascular health, and healthy digestion. This antioxidant also goes hand in hand with healthy skin, respiratory tract, and reproductive system.
Ginger is spicy and warming, and Chinese medicine has been using it consistently for over 2,000 years. Its characteristic spiciness comes from a compound called gingerol, which transforms into shogaol during drying, with the latter having an even stronger effect. Ginger is associated with normal digestion, normal blood sugar levels, cardiovascular function, and natural immunity.
Together with cinnamon, it forms the warming base of this special blend to give your body a proper boost.
