Origins
They say that the world’s greatest discoveries were made by happy accidents. But the Bright Mind herbal infusion is not one of them. Not that it isn’t a great discovery, but chance played absolutely no part in it. Quite the opposite – each ingredient has a clear purpose. Let’s take a closer look at them.
The rosehip (Rosa canina) is the fruit of the dog rose, a shrub that grows up to 3 meters tall. You can recognize it by its arched thorns and delicate pink flowers, which turn into bright red, glossy, oblong fruits. It grows throughout Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa, most commonly on sunny hedgerows, hillsides, and forest edges. Rosehips are valued as an antioxidant and for supporting the body’s natural defenses, digestion, and normal urinary system function.
They mostly contain:
- vitamin C,
- flavonoids,
- carotenoids,
- tannins,
- organic acids.
Beetroot (Beta vulgaris) is a biennial plant with a fleshy, spherical tuber of a dark red color. Its above-ground part consists of a rosette of large, green to reddish leaves. It's cultivated throughout Europe and in other temperate regions of the world, requiring ample light and well-drained soil.
Beets are rich in:
- betanin (a natural pigment from the betalain group),
- naturally occurring nitrates,
- fiber,
- minerals (e.g., iron, potassium).
Cocoa originates from the tropical regions of Central and South America. The cacao tree (Theobroma cacao) is an evergreen tree with glossy dark green leaves and small flowers growing directly from the trunk. Its fruits are elongated pods containing cocoa beans. Today, it's cultivated primarily in West Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia.
Cocoa contains:
- flavonoids (especially epicatechins),
- theobromine,
- polyphenols,
- magnesium, and other minerals.
Ginkgo biloba, or the maidenhair tree, is a deciduous tree with fan-shaped leaves that turn golden in the fall. It originates from China, where it's considered sacred; nowadays, it's cultivated worldwide as both an ornamental and medicinal tree. It grows to a height of up to 30 meters and is among the oldest living tree species on the planet. Its recognized health benefits include supporting cognitive function, memory, and normal blood circulation.
The leaves contain primarily:
- flavonoid glycosides,
- terpene lactones (ginkgolides, bilobalide),
- antioxidants.
Gotu kola (Centella asiatica) is a low, creeping herb with small, round leaves resembling tiny water lilies. It grows in the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia, Africa, and Australia, often in humid meadows or near waterways. It's used to support the vascular system, the cardiovascular system, and mental balance.
The beneficial content is mostly:
- triterpenoid saponins (e.g., asiaticoside),
- flavonoids,
- essential oils,
- amino acids.
Each component of this blend thus has a clear origin, a specific appearance, and its own spectrum of valuable substances. Together, they form a functional whole that respects botanical tradition while meeting the needs of a modern lifestyle.
