Ingredients
Green tea Sencha, 2 % Strawberries, Pot marigold, Sunflower, AromaBrew & Taste
Strawberry-Vanilla has a light yellow brew and a strong fruity aroma, which is also reflected in the taste. Its base is, of course, sencha, so the initial taste has a pleasant grassy freshness, a slight astringency and a floral note. A touch of strawberry lingers on the palate.
Try this tea as an iced tea. Simply pour lukewarm tea into a glass 2/3 full of ice and yoll get a delicious summer pick-me-up.
Origins
Japan is famous for its green tea production – it accounts for more than 50% of all exported commodities. So it's clear that local farmers pay special attention to its preparation. Sencha can be found in every Japanese household. Chinese tea plants (Camellia sinensis) are grown on vast plantations. They are tended year-round by family-run businesses, and the art of processing tea leaves is passed down from generation to generation. Harvesting takes place early in the morning and is mostly by local women. They head out among the rows of tea trees with large baskets on their backs. They very gently pinch or cut off no more than the first two leaves on each shoot. They are the best quality and richest in valuable substances and aroma. No later than 10-20 hours after harvesting, the leaves must be spread out and allowed to wilt. They are then steamed briefly, for about 20 seconds, to stop fermentation. Next, the leaves are rolled into needles and dried.
The strawberries we have used for this tea come from our vetted EU supplier.
They are preserved by freeze-drying, a method that uses shock freezing followed by vacuum drying. This allows the ingredients to retain their original sensory qualities, without losing their vitamins and minerals.
We've also added a dash of natural flavoring to balance out all the flavors and aromas. We never use synthetics, so you can be sure you're not getting health-damaging chemicals in our loose teas. The natural aroma does not acidify the body, cause heartburn nor allergies.
