Infusion and flavour of the tea

Darjeeling SFTGFOP1 Puttabong 2026 tea can be recognized by its pleasant floral taste and fresh aroma. You can make up to three infusions and get a different experience each time. The first infusion will be a light golden colour.

Origin of the tea

The Puttabong Garden lies approximately 22 kilometres from Darjeeling city. Translated, its name could mean "house of green leaves" and it would live up to its name. One of the largest tea plantations is spread over some 440 hectares under the snow-capped peaks of Kanchenjunga Mountain. It holds some interesting firsts worth mentioning.

Puttabong (Tukvar) is the first-ever plantation established in Darjeeling. It was here that Dr. Campbell planted the first tea trees in 1852. Puttabong was the first in North East India to grow tea bushes commercially. It was also the first place where they used a pruning machine. And to top it all, Puttabong has the best hospital in Darjeeling.

This region has a lot to boast about. Besides being typical for its clean mountain air, unique soil composition and higher altitude, it is also famous for its sustainable farming practices. They aim to produce unique tea which is completely safe for health and nature. The owners of Puttabong Tea Estate have been instrumental in maintaining the biodiversity of the local landscape. The tea trees grow close to grasses, tall trees and herbs. The garden has its vermicompost plant and raises cattle to produce extra natural fertilizers.

Organic Darjeeling SFTGFOP1 Puttabong 2026 was generously covered in it. In the first spring, young teas require special treatment. To retain their natural tenderness and juiciness, they must be transported to the consumer as soon as possible after processing. Tea lovers eagerly await, and the price of the tea often climbs to astronomical heights. In this case, you can rely on maximum quality. The abbreviation SFTGFOP1 (Super Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) already indicates that you are dealing with a tea of high quality. It will charm you with its beautifully twisted tips and luxurious aroma and taste.
