Origins
Sencha is traditionally grown in the Shizuoka region of Japan. There, tea gardens are found in valleys and on the slopes of high hills. Their quality is determined by the amount of sunlight, the length of the cool season, rainfall and altitude. All these factors are present in the perfect amount around Shizouka, which means the local tea trees produce leaves full of fresh flavor and delicate aroma. They are harvested in early spring, then left to wilt and exposed to hot steam for 10-20 seconds. This prevents fermentation and preserves the beautiful emerald color and all the health benefits. Finally, the tea leaves are rolled, dried and sorted. The best quality Japanese sencha is characterized by the appearance of fine needles and the absence of tea dust.
We have added whole pieces of freeze-dried cherries. The fruit is almost indistinguishable from fresh ones and retains all its sensory properties. Our EU supplier takes the utmost care in the selection, storage and transport of the raw materials.
The added flavoring also comes from a certified source. It is completely natural, contains no synthetic substances, so it does not cause heartburn and lasts.
