Butterfly Wings loose tea is great for making iced tea. Try pouring the lukewarm tea into a glass 2/3 full of ice cubes. You'll get a deliciously refreshing drink.
Origins
Sencha used in this tea comes from Japanese tea gardens located in the Shizuoka prefecture.
Under the sacred Mount Fuji grow Chinese tea plants, from which the youngest 2-3 leaves are usually harvested in early spring. These contain the greatest amount of caffeine and antioxidants for which green teas are so highly valued. Harvesting begins very early in the morning and is carried out by local women. They either pinch the leaves with their fingers or cut them with special shears. After the tea leaves have wilted briefly in the sun, they are steamed to stop the oxidation of the tea and preserve its properties and rich green color. This is followed by rolling the leaves into thin needles, drying and sorting.
Pineapple, lemongrass, cherry and jasmine flowers are sourced from certified suppliers from EU countries. This ensures that the fruit and herbs have been preserved with the highest standard.
We prefer so-called freeze-drying, i.e. vacuum freezing, which preserves the color, taste and aroma of the ingredients while not depriving them of their health benefits. Our partners use only healthy, whole fruits cut into large pieces. The resulting ingredients in our loose-leaf teas look and taste like they were just picked from a tree or harvested from a meadow or garden.
