Origin of the tea

Rooibos is a South African long-leaf tea. People have been harvesting it for centuries, and it is even documented as being used by the African Bushmen to treat a wide range of ailments. Like the Bushmen, this magical herb has almost disappeared into the annals of history. Fortunately, it was rediscovered in 1772 by botanist Carl Humberg. Not only did South Africans return to rooibos for its unique qualities and great taste, but in time it became a hit in Europe as well. In the early 20th century, South Africa began to export it, primarily as an herbal substitute for tea. The plant, originally known only to a small group of natives, became one of the world's most popular herbs.

Rooibos Long Cut Premium is harvested from the Cape tea bush, which is planted in February and March in the foothills around Cape Town. The first harvest takes place after six months. The leaves are then chopped and left to ferment, and all of this takes place under the merciless African sun. This is why the resulting tea has a beautiful reddish-brown color and the infusion is full and smooth. It is also often referred to as redbush tea or mountain tea.

Organic Honeybush

Honeybush grows on the wild hillsides of the Cape Point. It thrives in the humid sea breeze and regular wildfires. When it sprouts, it carves its way through inhospitable terrain and when it flowers, the intoxicating fragrance is unmistakeable. The only things that can stop it from prospering are chemical fertilizers and air pollution, and that's why we love it. It brings us nature in its purest state, fragile yet untamed. China Sencha – Green Tea

In the history of green tea, we find a milestone that marks the beginning of a long tradition of drinking it and the beginning of its great popularity. This is Kissa Yojoki, the Book of Tea, which in 1191 described the five vital organs that tea positively affects. See for yourself that the author of this comprehensive work, the Zen monk Eisai, didn't just write into the wind. Try authentic Chinese green tea. No dust, just whole leaves! More in product details
