Ingredients
Green tea China Gunpowder Super, Candied pineapple (pineapple, sugar) 25%, Roasted rice, Natural aroma, Green tea Japan MATCHA 3%, PopcornBrew & Taste
Thanks to the fine matcha powder, the Pineapple Matcha infusion is slightly cloudy, but otherwise looks like a green tea – it is a beautiful yellow. The smooth grassy element of the gunpowder with a slight smokiness and the tart sweetness of matcha supported by the pineapple naturally contributes to the flavor. Thanks to the roasted rice, it's accented by an enticing hint of popcorn.
Origins
China, Japan and Europe – that's where we got our ingredients for this blend. Let's look at them in order:
China gunpowder needs no long introductions. A classic that every tea lover must try, it doesn't disappoint even as part of a tea blend. It is made from the last harvest of tea leaves. These are rolled into tiny round beads resembling gunpowder. But it is also said that gunpowder gets its name from the way it unfurls when covered in hot water. The leaves literally "explode."
Japanese matcha is essential to the taste and health benefits of this tea. Its production is, of course, closely guarded and the exact process isn't known, but in general terms we can say that matcha is made from the leaves of tea trees that have been shaded for several weeks. After drying, they are stripped of their veins and woody parts and ground on granite grinders. The very fine powder is carefully packaged and very often sold in stylish boxes or tins.
The third raw material, pineapple, is mostly imported from the USA, Thailand, the Philippines and Brazil. We buy our candied pineapple bits directly from a verified European supplier. We thus have a guarantee of high quality and a certificate proving the absence of heavy metals and other health-damaging substances. Pineapple trees are grown in sandy soil on plantations. The fruit is harvested 15-18 months after the seedlings are planted, when the fruit starts to turn yellow.
