Origins
The special care and unique natural conditions in which Chinese tea trees (Camellia sinensis) grow in Zhejiang, China, guarantee the highest quality. In the case of China Mist and Cloud Tea, the originality of the tea is enhanced by its "organic" origin. The tea trees are grown in an organic farming, i.e. without the use of industrially produced chemical treatments and fertilizers.
Zhejiang Province is located in the east of China and is largely mountainous. The subtropical and extremely humid climate favors both the tea gardens and the rich surrounding vegetation. The tea leaves for China Mist and Cloud Tea are harvested in spring. The local women and girls place not only the leaves but especially the fluffy buds in large baskets, which make the tea smooth to buttery. The leaves are left to wilt and dried on large hot pans. In this way, they retain their natural freshness and are enriched with a pleasant smoky aroma.
