Touareg – Green Tea
There is beauty in simplicity. This time, we bring a tip for a wonderfully refreshing and extremely tasty tea from the desert nomads. The Touaregs don't want any complicated scents or elaborate preparation methods, so it's no wonder their favorite drink is a strong green tea with mint. We recommend trying it as an iced tea. It can cheer you up and put you in a good mood even in the tropical heat.
Ingredients
Green tea China Gunpowder, Nana mint (spearmint), AromaBrew & Taste
Beautiful dark yellow infusion, delicate smoky aroma with fresh mint notes – that's Touareg. It will be appreciated by both true tea lovers and tea beginners. The flavor has a bittersweet note with a light smoky finish. The freshness is pleasant, just as green teas should be. At the same time, you can clearly taste mint on the palate. In conclusion, it's a balanced combo of two wonderful ingredients.
Touareg loose tea is also suitable for making iced tea.
Iced tea recipe:
- Pour the lukewarm tea into a glass filled up to 2/3 with ice cubes.
- Optionally, try sweetening your tea or throw in some fresh mint leaves for good measure. This is exactly how the Touareg people in Morocco drink it.
You will get an extremely healthy, refreshing drink!
Origins
Gunpowder or Zhu Cha is grown almost all over China. Our regular supplier is the tea gardens of Zhejiang, the cradle of all gunpowder. The quality of the tea is influenced by altitude, climate and rainfall. Of course, the care of the Calmellia sinensis tea plants are provided is also essential. We only choose farmers who work with the organic farming system. The tea plants for gunpowder are harvested at the end of September, usually by hand or with special shears. After picking, the leaves are left to wilt, rolled into small pearls and roasted to stop them fermenting. Generally, the smaller the gunpowder beads are, the better the quality of the tea.
We purchased our mint from a certified supplier in the EU. It was, like green tea, grown in accordance with the principles of organic farming, so it is free of chemical compounds and any other health hazards.
