Strawberry Lavender is blended with apple pieces, lavender flowers, freeze-dried strawberries, hibiscus, and a drop of flavoring. Let’s take a look at them one by one.
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is an aromatic herb native to the Mediterranean. It has tiny purple flowers that grow on long stems and is known for its calming scent. Traditionally, it’s used to promote good sleep, to relax, and to improve digestion. It brings a pleasant, calming note to tea blends.
Strawberries (Fragaria) are one of the most popular fruits in the world. They have a fantastic taste, a distinctive aroma, and a signature, vibrant red color. They’re the fruit of strawberry plant: a low herb that blooms with petite white flowers – at least that’s what most people think. To be more precise instead of fruit, it’s an aggregate of tiny drupes. Strawberries originated in America, but nowadays, they’re cultivated almost all over the world. Strawberries contain large amounts of vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants.
An equally important ingredient in the tea blend is hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa), the flower of a tropical plant native to Africa and Asia. Similarly to strawberries, it has a beautiful red color and is rich in natural acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. In this tea, hibiscus contributes a slightly, pleasantly sour taste.
Preparing cold brew tea is easy and quick. For the cold brew, use 2-2.5 teaspoons per 2-2.5 dl of cold water (15-20°C), leave to steep for 15 minutes, and then strain. If you’d rather have it hot, add 1.5-2 teaspoons, pour in boiled water (100 °C), steep for 5 minutes, and then strain.
