Origins
Before we go on to describe the ingredients, we need to explain what makes this tea special. We have put the term ""cold brew"" in its name as a reference to a quick preparation in cold water! Fresh Lemon - Cold Brew 15 is ready in 15 minutes, and because you do not use hot water, it releases almost no bitter substances. Your drink will be sweet, light, harmonious and deliciously rich in flavour.
Lemon and pineapple - these are the two main ingredients of Fresh Lemon - Cold Brew 15. The lemon tree is a small evergreen tree of the rosaceous family. It originally grew in Asia, especially in northeast India, northern Myanmar and China, but is now mainly grown in warm and subtropical regions. The largest producers of lemons are Spain, the United States, Argentina, India, Turkey and Mexico.
The lemon tree can grow 3-6 metres tall if not pruned and has oval leaves with a distinctive red tinge that later turns green. Its oval yellow fruits are used both culinarily and for non-culinary purposes. Lemon peel and pulp can also be used in cooking and baking, for instance, in desserts, pastries or poultry, fish and vegetable dishes. Lemon is also commonly added to tea.
The juice of the lemon contains approximately 5-6 % citric acid, giving it a characteristic sour taste and a pH of around 2.2. Lemons are rich in vitamin C and contain small amounts of B vitamins such as thiamine, riboflavin and niacin.
And what do we know about pineapples? It is a perennial plant that grows to a height of 1-1.5 metres. It has a short, sturdy stem and stiff, waxy leaves. It usually produces up to 200 flowers when fruiting, although some varieties with large fruits can exceed this number. When the flowers begin to bear, the individual small fruits are joined into one large, multi-seeded fruit. That produces the pineapple.
The pineapple (Ananas comosus) is the most important plant of the Bromeliaceae family. It is native to South America, where it has been cultivated for centuries. When it appeared in Europe in the 17th century, it quickly became a symbol of true luxury. In terms of nutritional parameters, let us add that it is rich in fibre and vitamin C. Pineapple also contains manganese, which is necessary for building strong bones.
