Origins
Fujian Province, where Pai Mu Tan originates, is a coastal part of southeastern China filled with high mountains and deep valleys. White tea is harvested from the slopes and hillsides during strictly limited times and when the weather is suitable. Women and girls usually go to the plantations in early spring (late March/early April). They collect only the white, fluffy buds and the few youngest leaves.
These are rare and highly prized parts of the plant, which is why white tea is considered hard to find and used to be a drink solely reserved for the Chinese emperor. After the tea leaves are wilted, they are dried at low temperatures. This is a long process in which they are shaken on plates and lightly wrinkle. The disruption of the cellular structure results in very slight oxidation, which is soon after stopped by either steaming or drying. The white tea is not rolled or shaped, and its taste brings you closer to the pure flavor of fresh tea leaves.
The fruits and herbs we added to Pai Mu Tan are purchased from certified EU suppliers. Thanks to the care they take in their selection, processing, storage and transport, we can guarantee maximum quality and purity to our customers. Only whole, healthy, and ripe fruits from organic farming are selected and freeze-dried, which makes them free of mold, bacteria, and any heavy metals and other harmful substances.
