Ingredients
Red tea Pu Erh, Yerba Mate, Orange peel, Natural aroma, Hibiscus flowerBrew & Taste
The beverage is a deep brownish red, which is thanks to the red pu erh. Its distinctively earthy flavor is mellowed by the tart maté. The addition of orange peel and a few drops of flavoring bring a very tasty twist to this healthy drink.
Teas containing pu erh are also perfect for iced tea.
Origins
Pu Erh from the Chinese province of Yunnan is a true rarity among teas. The bud and the 3-4 nearest leaves are collected and all further work is done by hand and according to traditional methods. Once the leaves are wilted, they are heated in a dry pan, rolled, shaped and dried. They are then piled into heaps and left to ferment naturally. This also matures the tea, which can take from several weeks up to multiple months. The final product is tea pressed into bricks, bars or nests.
Unlike pu erh, maté is not quite tea. This is because it is not made from the leaves of the Chinese tea plant, but from the Paraguayan holly, a South American plant. The leaves and their twigs are fermented in a special way and as a result, they ripen for several months in jute bags.
Lemon peel is sourced from a long-established and verified supplier from the EU. Their raw materials do not contain heavy metals or other residues from fertilizers or chemical treatments.
