Origins
Pu erh teas are traditionally produced in Yunnan, China, but in rare cases, it can be grown in Vietnam, Laos or Burma. They are popular for their secret recipe, which is passed down from generation to generation, and their excellent health benefits. These have made pu erhs famous all over the world.
The very selection of tea plants for harvesting has its own charm – proponents of indigenous customs claim that the best pu erh can only be made from the leaves of old tea trees growing in the wild. Another peculiarity is that, unlike other teas, even the older leaves are utilized. Pu erhs are prepared from the bud and 3-4 older leaves. After harvesting, they wilt and are heated on hot pans, which stops the activity of enzymes. The leaves are then rolled, moistened and pressed into various shapes. In this state, they are left to the maturation process, which is carried out by natural molds and bacteria. Thanks to them, the green tea becomes a red tea with the usual sensory and health properties.
Cranberries, currants and raspberries are sourced from verified EU suppliers. The fruit, which comes from controlled agriculture, has been treated by vacuum freezing, a very gentle preservation method that preserves up to 90% of the vitamins.
