Ingredients
100 % Colombia La Cumbre Valle del Cauca - Black Emerald BIOBrew & Taste
The infusion sparkles with amber and copper tones. Its aroma has a light touch of coffee, while honey is the main flavor. Black Emerald has a smooth finish, without much of the typical astringency of black teas.
Origins
The area around La Cumbre town is known for its beautiful natural scenery. The Bitaco River flows through the Valle del Cauca region and is the source of crystal-clear water for the unique tea garden here. This is where Colombia's exclusive tea is grown – strictly under organic farming, no less.
Surprisingly, the Andean rainforest hides the perfect conditions for growing tea. The fresh mountain air, the tropical climate and the emphasis on respect for nature are behind this novel and delicious black tea. Thanks to the ingeniously planted aromatic plants near the tea plantations, Black Emerald has a unique aroma.
Since 1950, premium organic tea leaves have been grown here in perfect symbiosis with the surrounding landscape. The leaves are large and nutrient-rich thanks to the high altitude of up to 2,000m. After drying, they shrivel up and are left to oxidize completely. The result is a pleasant infusion full of flavor with honey and nutty as well as fruity undertones. Despite the relatively high caffeine content, this black tea is mild, with no final bitterness, so even those who would not normally enjoy it on its own, without adding milk, will enjoy it.
