King Mao Feng – White Tea

Code: 230

Once upon a time, a young scholar fell in love with a beautiful girl working in the tea gardens of a wealthy landowner. The landowner wanted to win her over, so he forced her parents into marrying the girl to him. The night before the wedding, the girl snuck out of the house and ran after her lover. Ingredients

100 % White tea China Mao Feng

Brew & Taste

Mao Feng White Tea has a pleasant sweet taste and rich aroma. Its infusion is clear and light yellow. It is excellent for making iced tea.

Origins

This white tea comes from the Zhejiang province, which is located on the southeastern coast of China. It's famous for its picturesque natural scenery and is often called the 'land of fish and rice'. In addition to these, it also exports silk and tea. 70% of the territory is made up by mountains and hills. On their slopes are tea gardens specializing in the production of green and white tea.

Mao Feng is made from tea buds harvested just before unfurling and a few young adjacent leaves. They are harvested exclusively by hand, before dawn, to prevent any dew from causing unwanted steaming. They are left to wilt, then heated quickly, either in large pans or with hot air, and finally dried at a low temperature. The result is an original white tea with a delicious sweet taste.

China OP – White Tea

Chinese white teas are said to have first appeared in the Song Dynasty. Thus, between 960 and 1127, Chinese people admired unfermented tea leaves for their exceptionally fresh aroma and delicious taste alongside the first paper money and gunpowder. Very soon, rules for drinking the precious tea were drawn up, with detailed descriptions of the harvesting, production and preparation of white teas. Not much has changed. More in product details
