Ingredients
Brew & Taste
China Jade Lake green tea is a pure, light jade-colored tea with a mild, elegant aroma reminiscent of freshly mowed lawn. The taste is rich and full yet very sleek. On the palate, you’ll first notice a slight sweetness, slowly expanding into a subtle nutty accent. The latter is especially noticeable in the finish, which lasts for a long time without any hints of astringency or bitterness. The overall impression is refreshing and harmonious, ideal during a slow morning or for a gentle afternoon restart. China Jade Lake can be steeped repeatedly, as each subsequent infusion uncovers new, mild layers.
Origins
If you are interested in the origin of China Jade Lake tea, we can reveal that it comes from Emei Mountain, one of China's most popular tea-growing regions. Emei Mountain is located in Sichuan Province and is of great importance to the local population. They consider it a traditional spiritual place, so its slopes are literally dotted with historic temples, some of which date back hundreds of years. The entire area is therefore not only interesting for tourists, but thanks to its rich vegetation and clean mountain environment, it’s also perfect for growing Chinese tea plants (Camellia sinensis).
The plantations where Jade Lake comes from are located at an altitude of about 900 meters. This high, tea plants don’t grow at a rapid pace – it’s the cooler nights and slow maturation that allow the aroma and flavor to gradually concentrate in the leaves. The fog that lingers in the valleys of Emei Mountain for much of the day acts as a natural filter for sunlight, which means that the tea leaves are protected from direct sun exposure and remain delicate, rich in aromatic substances and with a typical natural sweetness.
Sichuan is a region with a long history of tea cultivation. Tea is grown here with respect for the soil and climate. Thanks to the clean environment and minimal industrial pollution, local teas have a reputation for being pure and unadulterated.
