100 % Jasmine flowerBrew & Taste
The infusion of jasmine flowers is really mild. It has a pale yellow color and a sweet, very pleasant taste. However, do not expect the typical jasmine scent. Dried flowers smell very faint and delicate.
Origins
Jasmine flowers were used in ancient China. Their strong frangrance attracted the attention of herbalists and tea garden owners, who used them to scent green tea leaves.
The dried buds of jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum) come from the Mediterranean. Jasmine is very popular in Turkey, where it is used to produce high-quality oils; Egypt, where it is revered for its ability to stimulate libido; and China for the aforementioned addition to tea and sipping for a variety of health conditions.
Jasmine originally grew in South Asia, the Arabian Peninsula and Northeast Africa. It was first brought to Europe in the 16th century from China. It is a deciduous shrub growing 2-4m tall and is classified in the olive family. It has creeping stems and slender, dark green leaves. The flowers are white, very sweetly scented. They are hand-picked only at night, when they open and give off their intoxicating fragrance.
Jasmine flower sprigs are used in a variety of rituals. They can be seen at weddings, religious ceremonies and festivals. In Hawaii, the jasmine is the topic of many songs, in Indonesia its flower has become a national symbol, as well as in Pakistan and the Philippines. In Thailand, the jasmine flower is a symbol of motherhood.
Jasmine flowers are attributed the mystical ability to summon prophetic dreams and bring money. For these purposes, it is necessary to burn the flowers and leaves in the bedroom. Jasmine is also often referred to as the herb of love and wealth.
