Origins
While Cool Dragon tea tastes primarily like blackberries, it also features apples, raisins, carrots, beets... Its fruits and vegetables are cut into large pieces and gently freeze-dried. So-called vacuum freezing is based on the sublimation of frozen water at low pressure and temperature. The unique technology is used for food preservation, for example in pharmaceutical or biotechnology research, or to save old books and documents. Consumers of our teas will appreciate freeze-drying immediately when they open the bag. One look and they can distinguish the individual ingredients, which lose almost none of their color, aroma or flavor.
Let's mention some of the ingredients...
Blackberries are the well-known fruit of the deciduous shrub. It usually grows to several meters, its shoots are covered with thorns, and its leaves are petioled, with various shapes and sizes, glabrous or hairy. It flowers white, pink or purple from May to August. It is estimated that there are 300-2000 different species of blackberries in the world, and about 100 of them can be found in central Europe.
Currants are tiny berries of many colours with a sour taste. In Cool Dragon tea you will come across the fruit of the redcurrant (Ribes rubrum), which is one of the many varieties grown commercially.
Apples, the juicy fruit of the apple tree, have been known since the time of the ancient Romans. There is evidence that they were even grafted in 300BC. The apple tree (Malus) arrived in the areas of the present-day central Europe in the 9th century. Their cultivation flourished during the reign of Charles IV. and to this day, apples are a symbol of fertility.
The hibiscus, or more precisely the hibiscus flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa), is used to make the traditional hibiscus tea in Egypt. The plant thrives in the tropics and subtropics, and in our latitudes it can be found in botanical gardens.
Cool Dragon tea is recommended to be enjoyed both hot and iced. This is our tip for a summer version of this tea:
