Benefits of beetroot
Did you know that if a man and a woman eat beetroot together, they fall deeply in love? At least that is what the myth says. And while you may end up with a few pieces on your head at first, if you bring it instead of a flower, do it. Because beetroot is not a vegetable to be overlooked.
The beetroot was originally cultivated by the Romans in the days of antiquity. Its original home was therefore the area around the Mediterranean. However, it quickly spread to other parts of the world and can be found, for example, in the sources of traditional folk medicine in China and Ayurveda in India.
The beetroot can do a lot, which has been confirmed by countless studies. Yet it is often condemned because of the infamous sterilised version in school canteens. But it is worth giving it a second chance. It is great fresh or cooked in salads or combined with carrots and orange as a juice. But you can also find it in dried form in tea blends.
Its renaissance in recent years is also due, for example, to famous chefs from the screen, who take full advantage of its rustic and sweet taste. You do not have to limit your consumption, just do not be scared. If you eat a lot of it, your body may not process all of its colouring and you may end up with red-coloured urine and stools. This is not harmful and the benefits of beetroot are worth it.
