Brew & Taste

Beets powder catches the eye with its amazing color, of course, but its taste also pleasant. It is sweet and just slightly earthy.

Origins

Who doesn't know beetroots? The fist-sized tubers, which have been harvested since the days of ancient Rome, are a traditional part of today's diet.

At least they should be. They contain large amounts of betanin (trimethylglycine TMG), a substance associated with positive effects on inflammation, vascular diseases, depression and some forms of dementia. As well as contributing to cardiovascular and hair health. Regular consumption of beetroot has also been shown to have an effect on red blood cell production, mood, digestion, skin and hair quality and detoxification. Add to this the presence of sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium in beetroot, including vitamins C and B vitamins. Until the early modern period, people consumed only the above-ground part. The thickened root, i.e. the tuber, was first used as a medicinal product. It was not until the Roman Empire that beetroot became a staple of the diet. It quickly gained a lot of popularity and cultivation spread from the Mediterranean to almost all of Europe, North America and some countries in Asia.

If you are interested in a more detailed description, we would like to add the fact that botanists classify beets as a member of the Amaranthaceae family (along with spinach). It is a biennial root vegetable, its tuber is reddish-purple color and usually spherical, less often also elongated in shape.

Beets can be grown in many places, but not always in conditions free from industrial pollution. Beet powder, in addition to being organic quality, guarantees the highest quality, plus you can store it for several weeks without affecting its contents or usability. The powder does not spoil, just store it in a dry place, without access to light and air. After harvesting, the tubers are very carefully sorted, cleaned and washed, dried and finely ground. The production process is subject to strict supervision, during which the raw material does not lose any of its health benefits.

Beetroot powder can be mixed into drinks including smoothies, added to salads, dips and dressings or soups.
