Heady Cherry Green Tea lives up to its name. Because it is based on high-quality Chinese sencha, you will notice a pleasant freshness and a slight astringency of green tea in the infusion. However, it is beautifully complemented by the sweetness of cherries and the fragrance of rose petals. Heady Cherry is suitable for hot or iced tea in the morning, noon and early evening.
Origins
You should care about the origin of your tea. Knowing where your food and drinks come from is not only a trend, but more importantly a way to verify its quality. That's why we make no secret of it.
Sencha is one of the most delicious teas. Although it was originally produced only in Japan, Chinese producers soon managed to achieve top quality as well. For the Heady Cherry tea, we reached for sencha from China's Huang Shan Mountains, located in the famous tea province of Anhui. Not only the teas, but also the stunning scenery are the attraction that has made Anhui a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The interesting thing about sencha is that its leaves resemble long needles of a beautiful emerald color. In Anhui, tea harvesting usually begins in April, with manual harvest still prevalent. This is because it ensures that the best quality Chinese tea leaves (Camellia sinensis) are collected and carefully placed in baskets. In these, the tea is transferred to the processing plants. The traditional way green teas are produced in China is by pan roasting. This gives them their typical smokiness and pleasant, deep notes. In the case of this sencha, however, the Japanese process was used – the leaves were subjected to repeated but short steaming after they had wilted. This stops the oxidation of the enzymes and preserves all of the tea's aromatic compounds.
Those who have sipped high-quality sencha will attest that it can be consumed all day long. Its stimulating ability is very pleasant and gradual. In addition, this green tea is beneficial for cognitive function, can aid good digestion, and is recommended for febrile conditions or for improved recovery.
Of course, we can't leave out the cherry (Prunus) in the description. This popular fruit can be found all over Europe, and archaeologists have documented its existence as far back as the Bronze Age. The fruit ripens on deciduous, deciduous trees 20-25m high, which usually flower in April and bear fruit between June and August. The cherries are stone fruits and their flesh contains many valuable substances such as iodine, calcium or anthocyanin, vitamins C, E, B, P and A. Thanks to these, they are recommended for the prevention of various inflammations, including periodontitis and arthritis. It is not without interest that cherries can be enjoyed in reasonable quantities by diabetics, as about half of all the carbohydrates they contain are fructose. And finally, we have brought the freeze-dried cherry pieces from a European supplier that regularly certifies the health safety of its products and takes care to protect the environment during production, storage and transport.
