Origins
Sencha green tea, the main ingredient in this tea, comes from the famous tea gardens of Japan. The farmers take care of the quality of the tea leaves all year round. Camelia sinensis tea plants are grown on the slopes of high hills and in the valleys of endless rivers. The sencha we used in the loose tea is from the Shizuoka region.
The dark green leaves are harvested short after dawn. When they are wilted, they undergo a short steaming process to stop the fermentation process. This is where we find the fundamental difference between Sencha from Japan and China. Chinese farmers and producers stop fermentation via roasting when making green tea. The tea then has a smoky flavor that is not found in Japanese Sencha. After steaming, the tea in our blend has been rolled into fine needles, dried and sorted.
We have added cranberries and jasmine flowers from certified EU suppliers. Thanks to the freeze-drying technology used to process both ingredients, they retain maximum vitamins and other health benefits. In addition, they keep their natural color and excellent aroma.
