Ingredients
Green tea Sencha, 17 % Lemongrass, 5 % Ginger, Lemon peel, Natural aromaBrew & Taste
Exceptionally refreshing and balanced in taste – that's Ginger-Lemon green tea. The light yellow-green infusion has a beautiful sparkle, clear color and smells like a summer meadow. We can especially distinguish the slight grassy notes of green sencha, which are accompanied by a welcome astringency. In the very next moment, the spiciness of ginger and juicy lemon freshness develop. This tea is also great for making iced tea. Try pouring the lukewarm tea into a glass 2/3 full of ice cubes. You'll get a deliciously refreshing drink.
Origins
This loose tea comes from two sources – we've sourced sencha from Japanese tea gardens, and bought fresh lemon bits, ginger and lemongrass from EU suppliers. This has resulted in a flavorful and exceptionally high-quality tea that will appeal to both die-hard tea gourmets and complete tea beginners.
Sencha is grown on many plantations in Japan. We always choose the tried and tested ones, which is why we primarily source our sencha from the Shizuoka region. The tea plants there, as in most other plantations, are tended mainly by women. They are also the main harvesters and work under very strict conditions. They pinch off the leaves either directly with their fingers or with special scissors and must deliver them within 10-20 hours for further processing. In the case of Japanese sencha, this process is steaming. The tea is exposed to hot steam for approximately 10-15 seconds. This interrupts the fermentation process and preserves the tea's natural properties – flavor, aroma and color. The next step is to roll the leaves into small needles and dry them. Great attention was also paid to the other ingredients – we added whole, freeze-dried pieces of lemon and ginger. Freeze-drying is a delicate and quite demanding freezing and vacuum drying technology. Its main benefit is the preservation of the original colors and flavors of the fruit and herbs.
