China Yunnan Queen of Pu Erh
Time can fix everything. And sometimes make things better. That's certainly true for Pu Erh teas. Just as wine lovers take pride in their archival bottles, tea lovers can rejoice in their own antique – Pu Erhs can be aged for several years to improve quality and character with each passing year. The exceptional China Yunnan Queen of Pu Erh vintage is the perfect example of this.
Ingredients
100 % China Yunnan Queen of Pu-ErhBrew & Taste
The dark mahogany-colored infusion carries a subtle harmonious earthy taste with notes of mint and licorice. The aroma is pleasantly intense, typical of long-aged teas.
Origins
For this premium Pu Erh, we have to go all the way to far away China. More specifically to the province of Yunnan. The local town of Lin-Chang is famous for the production of this delicate tea. Away from the bustling civilization, in the middle of a mountainous area there are beautiful tea gardens. Once a year, pickers hand-harvest unripe buds or shoots with one or two young leaves, which are then dried exclusively in the sun.
This procedure is extremely important because it is the sunlight that allows the leaves to oxidize very slowly and gently, gradually changing the color from green to brown. The tea master continuously checks the humidity and at the right moment the tea is transferred for sorting. Only unbroken or otherwise undamaged leaves are selected for Pu Erhs, which may or may not be further pressed into the familiar cakes.
Premium Pu Erhs must go through an aging process. Previously, tea was stored in dark cellars, but the fluctuations in temperature and humidity weren't ideal. Modern methods make it possible to carefully regulate all conditions to ensure a stable environment for the best results to emerge. The longer this type of tea rests, the more delicate and coherent the flavor becomes, blending the uniqueness of the leaves with the tradition of production. And if you consider that Queen of Pu Erh has been aged for 5 years, you can be sure that the taste experience will be absolutely rare and perfect.
