Ceylon FBOPFEXSP New Vithanakande – Black Tea
Near Ratnapura, the legendary city of gems, all lovers of Ceylon black tea can find their treasure. Up on a hill, amidst the forests, the New Vithanakande Tea Garden produces exclusive and rare tea of the highest quality, whose perfect interplay of aroma and taste will enchant you. The tea garden makes only a small amount of tea each year, only 1% of the total volume.
Ingredients
100 % Black tea CEYLON FBOPFEXSPBrew & Taste
This tea is pure, dark copper and full of spicy and intense flavor with a fruity finish and a hint of malt.
Origins
"Everything bad is good for something" – when fungus invaded the coffee plantations in Sri Langa, growers had to switch to tea trees in the 19th century. That is how the signature Ceylon black tea was born.
In 1940, the renowned New Vithanakande Tea Factory was established in the beautiful surroundings of pure nature in the Dimbula area. Due to its location, it produces "high-grown" teas – the tea trees here grow at altitudes above 1250m. Generally, teas grown at higher altitudes are considered to be more valuable.
The leaves grow more slowly, which allows the intense aroma and deep flavor to blend better. Behind the not-so-clear cluster of letters, FBOPFEXSP is a designation for the highest quality teas.
And Ceylon New Vithanakande is that. Its dark green, tiny leaves with silver tips are tightly rolled into thin needles and processed according to traditional methods. The limited production, coupled with the long-lasting rich, yet subtle malty flavor makes this tea a true uniqueness that proudly carries many international awards.
