Origins
For Yerba Mate IQ Boost to work exactly as you expect, we’ve selected ingredients with a long tradition and clearly defined effects.
First, let’s talk about yerba maté. These are the firm, dark green leaves of an evergreen tree (Ilex paraguariensis), which can grow up to 15 meters tall. It occurs naturally in the subtropical regions of South America, particularly in Argentina, Paraguay, and southern Brazil, where it forms the basis of the local people’s daily ritual. The dried leaves are valued for their invigorating effects and their ability to harmoniously stimulate both body and mind without anxiety-inducing energy spikes. They contribute to the normal functioning of the cardiovascular system, support lipid metabolism, aid in the elimination of water from the body, and simultaneously combat mental and physical fatigue.
Yerba maté contains, for example:
- polyphenols,
- xanthines (caffeine, theobromine),
- saponins,
- B vitamins.
We have also added guarana to the blend – in other words, the seeds of Paullinia cupana, a climbing vine from the Amazon rainforest. Its fruits are unmistakable at first glance: when ripe, they open to reveal a dark seed surrounded by white pulp, resembling a human eye. Guarana is known for boosting energy and physical and mental vitality, and for helping to manage fatigue. It also contributes to normal digestion, supports the immune system, and aids in weight management.
Guarana is rich in:
- caffeine (guaranine),
- tannins,
- catechins,
- saponins.
We haven’t forgotten the leaves of Ginkgo biloba, the maidenhair tree. You can easily recognize it – the distinctive, fan-shaped leaves turn into a vivid yellow in the fall. It's one of the oldest tree species in the world and occurs naturally in China, from where it spread to other parts of the world. In traditional medicine, it's used primarily to support brain functions. It contributes to proper flow of blood to the brain, supports memory as well as cognitive performance, and also acts as an antioxidant while supporting the circulatory system and cholesterol metabolism.
Ginkgo biloba provides us with:
- flavonoids (quercetin),
- terpene lactones (ginkgolides, bilobalide),
- organic acids,
- antioxidants.
