Origins
Tian Mu Quing Ding can also be found under the name of Heavenly Blue Peak. As it is a lowland tea, the name is believed to reflect the nearby Tian Mu Mountain, whose peak overlooks the tea garden from the height of 1,400.
But let's focus on the tea itself. It is one of those that have a long history. It dates back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), when it was served exclusively to emperors. It was a dynasty that had a significant influence on Chinese tea culture. During her reign, tea cultivation flourished, tea drinking became more popular, and production expanded into many new areas. Tea became an important cultural and social element, and tea ceremonies and rituals were a common part of the lives of rulers and commoners alike.
The traditional method of harvesting Tian Mu Qing Ding tea leaves dates back to this time. Workers only go to the tea garden on sunny days and in the early morning, just as the last drops of dew evaporate from the leaves. They only pluck one or two leaves and one bud. The harvest period is usually between early to mid-April.
The leaves are processes as gently as possible, so the result is a true Chinese speciality. Moreover, the tea is of organic quality because Tian Mu Qing Ding Organic tea comes from a garden that promotes the organic way of growing tea bushes. That means without the use of industrially produced fertilizers and treatment or protection products.
