Redcurrant-Strawberry – White Tea
It is said that white teas were once exclusive to the Emperor's closest relatives. They are extremely delicate, light, gentle. In short, a treat for the palate. We topped the traditional white Mao Feng tea with lots of fruit. And the result? A magnificent composition of delicious notes of tea, strawberries, redcurrants and something extra... Perhaps it is the elegance of roses or the smoothness of mallow that adds that rare delicacy to the taste of Redcurrant-Strawberry tea.

Redcurrant-Strawberry White Tea has a light, almost yellow-orange color. The aroma is pleasantly fruity, and only once you have a sip will you notice the presence of delicate white tea. Overall, this blend is light, fresh and sweet at the same time. It cannot hide a slight astringency that's signature for high-quality Chinese teas, which makes it even more attractive.
Origins
Translated, Mao Feng means "downy tip". It is therefore clear that this white tea is made only from the fluffy top buds, the so-called tips. It is thanks to them that it has such a delicate and sweet taste. White teas are those that contain the young leaves or exclusively buds of the Chinese tea tree (Camellia sinensis). They must be processed quickly and carefully so they do not lose any of their unique flavor characteristics.
White teas are usually harvested by hand and either left to wilt in the sun or heated briefly and quickly (in large pans or in steam). The aim is to stop the natural oxidation process in the leaves, which starts as soon as they are plucked or rolled. However, at the end the tea must always be dried, carefully sorted and packaged.
The important ingredient that you can easily recognize in the taste of this tea is redcurrant. The tiny, sour-tasting berries are a source of vitamin C and fiber, and are used in folk medicine and in the kitchen. Currants are a popular ingredient in syrups, jams and wine. The berries grow in small clusters on the bushes of the redcurrant bush (Ribes rubrum), which thrives in temperate climates.
Strawberries, the fruit of the strawberry bush (Fragaria), are, like the currant, found in the wild. Due to their high popularity, they're very often grown commercially as a crop on large plantations, and in small gardens. This perennial herb produces small achenes set in a fleshy petal. It is this flesh that is the fragrant and tasty fruit we love to see in desserts, jams and other delicacies. Strawberries contain vitamin C, vitamin B and minerals such as iron, calcium and potassium.
