Magic of Turmeric – Organic Yerba Mate
It's no secret that the ancient Native Americans relied on the power of yerba mate, and we do too. There's no simpler, more natural way to stimulate the senses, energize the body and improve your mood. We've added turmeric, ginger, sage and fennel to make the experience even better. The result is an herbal, slightly peppery-tasting drink packed with antioxidants. Magic that works!

Yerba Mate Magic of Turmeric has a light yellow color, a relatively bland aroma and a very mild taste. Of course, the notes of high-quality yerba maté come through, and you can also detect the light peppery ginger and herbal spiciness of turmeric.
Origins
When it comes to yerba maté, Brazil is the world's second largest producer. It is surpassed only by Argentina. According to recent estimates, about 500,000t of yerba mate are produced annually on the entire planet, of which Brazil accounts for 180,000t. The Paraná region, from which the yerba mate in our tea comes, is located in the south of Brazil, with a subtropical climate, with average temperatures between 15-24°C. The year-round, relatively humid climate favors the growth of various plants, not least the Paraguayan holly (Ilex paraguariensis).
These evergreen trees are found in coastal areas, growing up to 20m and have stiff, egg-shaped leaves. It was the leaves and terminal branches that were the focus of the Amazonian indigenous tribes, who used them to stave off fatigue and hunger. The popularity of the beverage made from the leaves of the Paraguayan holly has transcended the centuries, and so maté is still extremely popular today. Not only in South America, but also in Europe and Asia.
To explain why we have named this organic yerba maté blend Magic of Turmeric, we will also add a few sentences about Indian saffron, as turmeric is sometimes called. It is the rootstalk of the herb Curcuma longa, which is popular as a spice, a dye agent and as part of Ayurvedic medicine. Curcuma contains curcumin, a yellow natural substance that has been used in folk medicine as a disinfectant, healing agent, or to help the digestive and excretory systems function normally.
