Lingonberry-Lemon – Green Tea
Take a high-quality green tea, add some lingonberries, chunks of lemon zest and lemongrass and you've got yourself a treat unlike any other. This original blend is based on sencha – a regular in the sphere of delicious teas. In the company of sour fruits, it offers an unusually fresh and fragrant moment. Just the way we like them.
Ingredients
Green tea Sencha, 5 % Lemon peel, 2 % Cranberries, Lemongrass, Natural aromaBrew & Taste
As soon as you open our resealable tea bag, you get a whiff of Lingonberry-Lemon goodness. This loose-leaf tea smells incredibly fresh, and on closer inspection, you'll notice a hint of the characteristic grassy aroma that comes with Japanese sencha in particular. After brewing, the infusion is bright, yellow-green color and its aroma fills the whole room. Since we've used green tea, the flavor is slightly bitter and a little grassy, yet the aftertaste is sweet and lasting.
Origins
Japanese sencha comes from beautiful tea plantations where the tea plants are tended with the utmost care. Camellia sinensis plants love tropical and subtropical areas and tolerate lowlands and high altitudes well. That is why the Japanese cultivate them in river valleys as well as on the slopes of high mountains. The only major determining factor for good tea plant growth is plenty of rainfall throughout the year. The plants like partial shade, so taller trees are always planted to provide partial shade before the plantation is established.
The best quality teas are harvested only three times a year, either by plucking with the fingers or with special shears. What kind of tea the leaves end up producing depends on how they are processed. Sencha is prepared by steaming the leaves for a very short time after they have wilted to stop fermentation and preserve the health benefits, aroma and color. The leaves are then rolled into tiny needles, dried and sorted.
The fruits and herbs in this tea are purchased from certified suppliers from EU countries.
