Ingredients

Yerba Mate, Liquorice root, Ceylon cinnamon chunks, Fennel, Vervain, Nettle, Mint leaves, 4 % Ginseng, Natural aroma, Candied Aloe vera (aloe vera, sugar), Currant leaves

Brew & Taste

Forever Young tea has a dark yellow-green color. Because the tea contains a variety of herbs, its aroma is pleasantly natural, with subtle hints of forest fruits. The flavor mostly reflects redcurrants. Although it is on the sour side, there is no need for additional sweetening. And if there is, just add a few drops of honey.

Origins

We can't describe every single ingredient in Forever Young tea here, so let's look at a few of the major ones...

Yerba maté in its unroasted form adds not only caffeine, antioxidants and vitamins to the blend, but also a slight tartness and earthiness. Fermented leaves of the Paraguayan holly (Ilex paraguariensis) were used by South American native tribes before Spanish colonizers brought them to Europe. Holly is a tree that grows on the banks of streams and rivers, usually protected by other trees of the rainforest. It has ovate leaves with a serrated edge. It grows in Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. After harvesting, the leaves and twigs should be bagged and left to ferment. The yerba maté is then dried, cut and packaged. In South American countries, sipping a drink made from the leaves of the Paraguayan holly is one of the traditional rituals of friendship.

The licorice root originated in the Mediterranean. It is the underground part of the licorice plant (Glycyrrhiza glabra), which grows 100-150cm and produces pods. The root is also used in the food industry. The plant contains glycyrrhizin, a substance 50 times sweeter than sugar.

Peppermint (Minta piperita) can be found in temperate regions around the world. The plant has a straight stem with tiny hairs and petioled leaves that are dried and used in tea blends.
