Benefits of raspberry leaves
The internet is a powerful weapon. Especially for expecting mothers, it is a chaotic mess of often conflicting information about what they can and cannot do. But one thing all expert articles and various discussions agree on - drink raspberry beverages!
Interestingly, although they always talk about the leaves of the raspberry plant, the correct name for the plant is raspberry bramble. This shrub inhabits the entire temperate climate zone of the northern hemisphere and can often be found in home gardens in the company of gooseberries and currants.
Its fruits, raspberries, are a sweet treat in themselves, but it is the leaves that are very useful. Yet there has never been much scientific interest in them, which has given way to grandmotherly roots and folk medicine. Countless generations of women have sung the praises of the leaf decoction, and so blackberry has slowly built a firm position among herbs.
The preparation of the decoction is simple, and the beverage itself has a pleasant fruity aroma and taste. You can sip it but also rub it on your skin. Pregnant women are advised to drink it from the 35th week onwards, initially one cup a day. They can gradually increase the daily dose up to one litre.
Approved health benefits:
- Normal digestion
- Excretion of water from the body
