Benefits of orange bark

The colour of the setting sun and a ton of vitamin C. Yes, we are talking about one of the most popular citrus fruits - oranges. Despite its many forms, all its variants have one thing in common - a juicy taste and an amazing impact on our health.

The tree with its round, bright green crown looks as if it has been festooned with glowing lanterns as the fruit ripens. Oranges are often mistaken for tropical fruit. These citrus fruits love subtropical climates, but the excessive humidity of the tropics does them no good. The origins of the orange tree can be traced back to China and Vietnam. Gradually, as trade routes expanded, it was planted in southern Europe and subsequently took hold on the American continent. There are a large number of varieties of oranges. They are most commonly divided into sweet and bitter and are further subdivided according to this criterion for use in gastronomy or the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.

The uses of oranges are more than diverse. The whole fruit can be processed, meaning both the flesh and the peel. Both have a wealth of beneficial substances, and their culinary possibilities are endless. The peel is often dried and can be added to dishes or tea blends to spice up the flavour.

Orange marigolds are pressed into juice, and when raw, they are a popular ingredient in salads, some meat dishes and especially desserts. Candied pieces are also popular, and you can even find a dried version of this fruit. However, freeze-drying is recommended as it is more gentle and retains more of the benefits.
