Benefits of Guduchi
The protector of the body and the root of immortality. No wonder that the Hindus have only words of praise for Guduchi. After all, they have had good experiences of its positive effects on the human body for centuries. So you can boldly include another helper in your natural home medicine cabinet.
When searching in wise books or on the Internet, one cannot help but notice that guduchi has many names. Apart from the Czech variant of Heart-leaved moonseed (Tinospora cordifolia), you may also come across the term amrita or giloy. The latter term refers to giloe, a part of Hindu mythology in which divine beings were given an elixir that granted them immortality and eternal youth.
Guduchi is a perennial climbing shrub growing in parts of India, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. The leaves, stem, and root can be used for natural medicine purposes. However, most often you will come across the processed stem, which is dried and ground into a fine powder. You may also come across tinctures or capsules in the market. It has a slightly bitter taste with a slight astringency, so it is recommended to combine it in powder form with something sweeter. Do not be afraid to mix it with other herbs to extend the benefits.
It is an adaptogen, a plant that gives the body energy and helps it cope better with stress. Adaptogens are usually not recommended for daily use over a long period. We advise consulting a medical professional if you are suffering from a serious illness or pregnancy.
