No need to worry about blooming teas being easy on the eyes only. In fact, they also meet the high standards of culinary enjoyment. Dandelion Bloom gives a delicate, harmonious and sweetly floral infusion. The green tea makes it gently astringent and therefore very refreshing. The infusion is light amber in color.
Origins
We cannot say when exactly blooming tea became a thing. The first mention can be traced to China, perhaps during the Song dynasty. They ruled in 960-1279 and supposedly wove tea leaves with the flowers of various plants to amuse their emperors. But it was not until the mid-20th century that the so-called molded or artisanal teas reached Europe. They are especially popular as gifts for lovers of healthy drinks, they symbolize nature and their preparation is a moment of pleasant relaxation.
Blooming teas are exclusively handmade. Thin strings or threads are used to sew or tie together white, green (and less often black) tea leaves with various flowers. Among the most popular are jasmine, lilies, chrysanthemums, marigolds, and osmanthus flowers.
In the case of the Dandelion Bloom, we went for marigold. This beautiful orange plant is common around central Europe, but originates from the Orient and southern Europe. It's popular for its proven health benefits. Pot marigold leaves, flowers and stems are used to make ointments, tinctures and teas.
100g packs include up to 15 spheres of blooming tea depending on the weight.
